Realizing that old and new jazz masters have a place at a mostly rock festival, with Pharoah Sanders leading rs 2007 gold the pack under the tent at the Willow stage early Saturday afternoon. Sadly, many missed out on seeing Sanders, the free jazz tenor saxophone great who emerged from John Coltrane groups of the mid 1960s. A much larger crowd came to The Oaks stage later that day for the latest savior of jazz, Kamasi Washington, a Los Angeles native who has taken the festival scene by storm. His music may be jazz, may be fusion and may be rock, but whatever it is, the brilliant tenor saxophone player has risen to the top of the scene where he belongs.
The film, titled The Babadook, is about a single mother who remains haunted of the tragic, violent death of her husband. He died in a horrific car accident while she was pregnant, and his death lingered throughout the whole film. Her son, now 6 years old, is disobedient in school and is always anxious. One night, he asks her to read a pop up book that suddenly appeared in the house. The book is called Babadook, and that summons the haunting monster. The movie had a slow rise to popularity once it was released, but soon received critical acclaim and turned out to be a success. It brought in $7.5 million, way more than its $2 million budget. Now, you may be wondering why The Babadook has randomly been selected to represent the LGBT community this year. And that a good question. The monster, who wears a hat, has a blank stare and his mouth wide open, is seen by many as a symbol of horror and grief from the fathers death. But many social media users see through that description of him. Instead, there a theory on Twitter and Tumblr that sees The Babadook as a gay man.It seemed to begin with a Tumblr thread back in October 2016 when someone posted a photo of him, saying that the Babadook is a of our journey. As Mashable wrote, its rise in the LGBT community may be because of Netflix selection of where to place the film. It put it under the Movies category.
Even so, Sultan finally decided earlier this year he'd had enough and quit. He also wants $5 million in damagesas restitution for Terzi's "systematic and continuous unlawful harassment".
When Game 2 of the 2017 NBA Finals ended Sunday night and the Golden State Warriors had beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers by 20 points, there were generally two ways to look at the situation. One way was to look at the first two games, acknowledge how well Golden State was playing and tell whoever was listening that the series looked like it was over.
